Sunscreen | Organic Ingredients
We've got nothing to hide. Here's our list of 100% Organic Ingredients.
Non Nano Zinc Oxide
Protects the skin by absorbing
both UVB and UVA light, Non
Nano Zinc Oxide is less likely
to irritate the skin compared to
nano zinc oxide. It has larger
nanoparticles, which means it
doesn't penetrate the skin at all,
making it safe for both the skin
and the environment.
Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil
Sunflower seeds produce oil. It
is used in skin and hair care
products since it absorbs easily
and moisturizes. Vitamin E, an
antioxidant in sunflower oil,
protects skin from free radicals
(toxins found in cigarette
smoke, smog, and sunlight).
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
The southwestern US-native
jojoba plant seeds yield the oil.
It moisturizes, protects against
sun damage, treats acne, and
reduces oil production, making
it popular in cosmetics. It
contains antioxidants and does
not clog pores. It even heals
minor wounds and eczema.
Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Extract
Calendula grows in temperate
zones of the Northern and
Southern Hemispheres.
Calendula treats acne,
irritation, dry skin, wounds,
and eczema
and psoriasis rashes.
Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax
Vegan cosmetics can use
candelilla wax. It's a great
vegan alternative to beeswax
and comes from the Candelilla
plant, which grows in Mexico
and has been used to
manufacture soaps
since prehispanic times. It
reduces stretch marks, acne
scars, and irritated skin
disorders like dermatitis and
eczema due to its
antiinflammatory
effects.
Coriandrum Sativum (Coriander) Seed Oil
Coriander seed oil comes from
the cilantro plant, and its bright
green leaves are most
wellknown
for adding flavor to
cuisines around the world.
However, this herb also holds
some skin benefits: it soothes
reactive and sensitive skin,
helps
promote a clear complexion,
and improves oily skin.
Thuja Plicata (Hinokitiol) Extract
Northwest North America is
home to Thuja Plicata,
popularly
known as the Western Red
Cedar. Thujaplicin and thujol in
this tree's resin heal scaling,
acne, and eczema. This oil is
antibacterial, antiseptic, and
natural disinfectant, making it a
versatile utility.
Avena Sativa (Oat Kernel) Flour
Oat extract comes in a fine
powder form that has calming,
nourishing, and antioxidant
properties. Oat extract is a
natural moisturiser and
antiinflammatory.
It stimulates the
growth of skin-nourishing
lipids,
and is good for dry, irritated,
inflamed, or eczema-prone skin.
Vanillin
Extracted primarily from
Vanilla
planifolia, Vanillin has
antiinflammatory
and antibacterial
properties. It is also a good
source of B vitamins, including
niacin, thiamin, riboflavin,
vitamin B6, and pantothenic
acid–all of which support
keeping skin looking healthy.
Glycyrrhiza Inflata (Liquorice) Root Extract
Liquorice root extract is strong
but skin-friendly. Japan has
traditionally regarded the
glycyrrhiza glabra plant's
medicinal and health benefits.
The extract brightens and treats
dark spots. It can also prevent
sunburn, repair acne scars,
relieve inflammation, and
regenerate collagen.
Glycerine
Glycerine is a natural compound
that is derived from vegetable
oils. It is widely used in personal
care products to help hydrate
and protect the outer layer of
the skin.
Sodium Chloride
Also known as table salt, it is a
natural preservative, works as a
binder for skincare products,
and prevents the growth of
yeast, mold, bacteria, and other
unwanted organisms in
cosmetic products.
Iron Oxide
Iron Oxide is often added for its
ability to protect skin from high
energy visible (HEV) light. It is
widely used in sunscreen lotions
and facial creams for its ability
to block UV rays.
Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate
Polyglyceryl-3 polyricinoleate is
a natural emollient derived from
the castor bean. Its main
purpose is to act as an
emulsifier, which is a substance
that ensures that liquids and
solids don't separate. This
ingredient acts as an emollient,
which means it helps retain
moisture on the skin.
Polyhydroxystearic Acid
It acts as a coating on oxide
particles that give sun
protection. It's pliable, soft, and
doesn't settle into fine lines or
pores. Also, it's not visible on
the skin after application
because it blends in well with
the skin's natural color.
Salvia Rosmarinus Oleoresin (Rosemary) Antioxidant
Rosemary extract has been
proven by several studies to
prevent signs of aging and
premature aging due to its
antioxidant properties.
Antioxidants such as salvia
rosmarinus oleoresin and other
natural compounds found in
rosemary extracts have been
proven to fight free radicals that
damage skin cells, leading to
fine lines and wrinkles.
Alusion™ (Alumina)
Alumina binds chemicals in
mineral sunscreens and
cosmetics. It blocks UV
radiation. Alumina has no major
side effects or toxicity, making it
perfect for treating skin
disorders including eczema and
scalp psoriasis without risking
further irritation or flare-ups.
Potassium Cetyl Phosphate
Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, a
mild emulsifier, doesn't irritate
the skin like other sunscreen
components. Since it's
fragrance-free, it's less prone to
induce allergic responses. PCP
stabilizes sunscreens and is mild.
The sunscreen lasts longer and
stays more stable on your skin
throughout the day.
Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
The most biologically active
form of Vitamin E, Tocopherol is
an antioxidant that helps
protect the skin from free
radical damage and
environmental stressors.
Maltodextrin
Maltodextrin is a white powder
that naturally occurs in corn,
rice, potato starch, or wheat. It is
also a natural moisturizer and
does not cause irritation or
sensitivity. Maltodextrin can be
used for anti-aging, to treat
inflammation and to improve
skin hydration.
Xanthan Gum
Xanthan gum is a powder
derived from corn syrup that is
used as a stabilizer, thickener,
binder, and skin-conditioning
agent. Although it has many
uses in the food industry,
xanthan gum is most commonly
found in cosmetics, where it is
often marketed as a natural
moisturiser.
